iTero Scanner & Digital X-rays
We offer the latest technological advances in orthodontics with the iTero Scanner, a state-of-the-art digital 3D impression system and digital radiography, also known as digital X-rays. The iTero Scanner creates a 3D model of your teeth which can be used to start Invisalign treatment, fabricate a variety of orthodontic appliances, and reduce the amount of appointments needed during treatment. Digital X-rays can be enhanced on the computer and enlarged for viewing. Not only are they friendly to the environment, they are much safer than traditional X-rays. Digital radiographs reduce a patient’s radiation exposure by 90 percent!
Paperless Charting
Our office uses all-electronic paperless patient and treatment charting. This system boasts many advantages over traditional paper-based charting. For one, appointments are faster, with shorter wait times. Additionally, patient information is more secure and private. Transferring and sharing important patient information with other medical and dental offices is also quicker and more efficient. Paperless charting is just one more example of how our office is dedicated to using the latest technology to make your appointments as effective and efficient as possible!
Computer Check-In
Throughout each phase of your orthodontic treatment – checking in at the front desk, during the orthodontic evaluation, explaining your orthodontic problem, discussing treatment options and at each adjustment appointment – we use computers to enhance staff-to-patient communication. We do our best to give you all the information you need to be an active participant in your treatment. With our computerized check-in, your wait time is minimized as much as possible.
Invisalign®
The Invisalign system combines advanced 3-D computer graphics technology with 100-year-old science of orthodontics. Invisalign aligners are designed to move your teeth in small steps to the desired final position prescribed by your orthodontist. Each aligner is precisely calibrated and manufactured to fit your mouth at each stage of the treatment plan. Your first step is to visit our office to determine if Invisalign is right for you. After sending precise treatment instructions, Invisalign uses advanced computer technology to translate these instructions in a sequence of finely calibrated aligners – as few as 5 or as many as 50. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks and only taken out to eat, brush and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next, your teeth will begin to move gradually – week-by-week until the final alignment prescribed is attained. Then you'll be smiling like you never have before!
Heat-Activated Nickel Titanium Archwires
These wires are used mainly at the beginning of treatment when teeth are crooked and need to be moved. This type of wire is a shape-memory wire. Outside of the mouth, this wire is very flexible and soft. But once inside the mouth, when it is warmed, the wire becomes hard and returns to its normal shape.
With heat-activated nickel titanium archwires, the temperature of the patient’s mouth heats the wire which then applies gradual pressure to the tooth. This pressure moves the teeth to the correct position. These wires do not have to be changed as often – resulting in fewer orthodontic visits!
