
Shawn M. Perce, DMD, MSD
Dr. Perce earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science in 1998. He went on to earn his doctorate with "High Honors" from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 2002. Dr. Perce was nominated by his peers and selected by faculty at the University of Florida College of Dentistry for the "Student Ethics Award," which is given to the student with the "highest ethics in personal, clinical and academic arenas." During his tenure at the University of Florida he was also awarded the Stephen D. Keeling Award for Research Excellence in Orthodontics. He followed that up in 2004 with a Master of Science in Dentistry and Orthodontic Certificate from the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. Upon the completion of his residency, he was awarded the Fredrick T. West Award for Leadership.
To stay up-to-date on all the latest advancements in the field of orthodontics, Dr. Perce maintains active memberships with the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the Florida Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the Northeast District Dental Association, and the Jacksonville Dental Society. Dr. Perce is currently serving as the Immediate Past President of the Jacksonville Dental Society for the 2011 - 2012 calendar year. Dr. Perce is a board - certified orthodontist, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Recently, he was inducted into the Pierre Fauchard Academy; an honorary dental service organization with a focus on professionalism, integrity and ethics. He is also a former coordinator of the Duval County "Give Kids a Smile" program, a nation-wide dental access campaign to provide free dental treatment to underprivileged children.
Outside of the office, Dr. Perce enjoys spending time with his family and friends and playing the occasional round of golf. He is an avid Gator fan and enjoys visiting his alma mater on game days. Music is a passion for Dr. Perce and he enjoys playing the guitar. He and his wife, Suzanne, have three children, Taylor, Kate and Jack.
